Establishment
Turkish Public Relations Association from 1972 to present
Turkish Public Relations Association (TUHID) was established in 1972 with the objective of enhancing and developing the public relations profession and providing a platform for professional solidarity.
The founders of the association are Alâeddin Asna, Ahmet Ramazanoğlu, Affan Başak, Ayşegül Dora, Babür Ardahan, Canan Usman, Cüneyt Koryürek, Ender Gürol, Mehmet Akter, Mehmet Turaç, Necdet Günkut, Rıdvan Menteş and Sağlam Dalaman.
The first President of the association was Alâeddin Asna. Later, this task was assumed by Betûl Mardin, Engin Vardar, Ergüder Tırnova, once again Alâeddin Asna and Meral Saçkan.
Following the initial foundation stage, the association has gone worldwide and established ties with IPRA and other international institutions, at the same time working constantly to increase the number of its members.
Today, the majority of the members of the association are public relations specialists who have adopted the objectives of TUHID and assumed the vocation of public relations as their professional identity.
